Leica 6-bit Encoder
I would be happy if you could also read my profile~ (人´3`*)
This item was ordered and purchased from the UK.
M-mount Leicas do not have electronic contacts between the lens and the body, so they cannot electronically communicate what lens is currently attached.
Therefore, the body's reading device reads the 6-bit code written on the lens to identify the attached lens. Most recent Leica lenses come with this as standard. For older Leica lenses and Voigtländer lenses, this 6-bit code is absent, making it very troublesome to manually input lens information every time you change the lens. This is an item to solve that problem.
It has only been used once, so it is almost new.
