A Guide to the Birds of Panama Foreign Book

US Size:

This is the first paperback edition of the popular bird guide, A Guide to the Birds of Panama, 2nd Edition.
The 2nd Edition, published in 1989, significantly expanded information on birds from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras, adding approximately 200 new species from the first edition published in 1976. Over 300 new illustrations were added (including species from Panama), along with 16 new plates, and 3 existing plates were replaced with revised versions.
The entire text has been reviewed to keep pace with the rapid advancements in ornithological knowledge for Panama, surrounding regions, and the Neotropics as a whole. The classification system follows the AOU Checklist, 1983 edition.
Furthermore, with the collaboration of two leading Panamanian birdwatchers, information on birdwatching spots in Panama has been enhanced. A special section summarizing the trends in Panamanian ornithology and conservation is also included.
